I am a "Texas transplant" and have lived in the Houston area for 29 years. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and completed my degree at The University of Houston, Downtown Campus. I began my teaching career in Sugar Land, Texas at Fort Bend Independent School District. I have been teaching Special Education in Willis ISD at Cannan Elementary for the past nine years. I am passionate about teaching children to read and am thrilled to be given this opportunity to be the Dyslexia Specialist at A.R.Turner and Cannan this year. I have a wonderful husband of 23 years and three beautiful daughters that have excelled in the Willis schools in both Academics and Sports. My youngest is a freshman at TX A & M this year. As an empty nester, in my spare time I love to read, decorate, and collect antiques. I enjoy watching all sports but especially Softball. Go Ladykats! I am passionate about kids in general but especially students with special needs. I hope to create a love for reading in my students as it is the foundation that will empower them to succeed in a very competitive world.
